Tour was packed full of destinations but didn't feel too busy. Everything was fun and cool to see. We lucked out with the weather and was able to see Mount Fuji in the morning but not the evening. Our tour guide Martin was extremely funny and helpful!

It was a great sunny day. Kousei, the tour guide, is approachable, patient and knowledgeable; hence we have enjoyed and understood the customs and traditions in Hakone (Shrine and Tori) and Mt. Fuji. I will definitely go back to thank the God.

Couldn't ask for a better guide than Brewster! This guy had everything planned from beginning till end and stuck to the itinerary with Swiss-like precision. Funny and informative at the same time, we learmed a lot about Japan's culture, customs, geography and language in a fun and seamless way. Consider yourself licky if you get him to be your guide!

The activity was well structured and was very enjoyable. Time at the Mt Fuji was a bit restricted but aware that there had been issues on the highway which reduced our time but we got to do most of if not all of the activities. The meal was amazing just a shame we did not get to see the drum show. Nothing can anticipate the weather in seeing Mt Fuji - but the experience overall was amazing and will recommend to people in the future.

Frequently asked questions About Chureito Pagoda

What makes Chureito Pagoda so special?

It’s not just a pagoda — it’s a postcard come to life. With Mt. Fuji towering in the background, this five-storied beauty sits high on a hill overlooking the city of Fujiyoshida. It's both a war memorial and one of Japan's most iconic photo spots. Trust us — it's worth the climb.

Do Chureito Pagoda day tours include transport from Tokyo?

Yes! Most Chureito Pagoda day tours include round-trip transport by bus or van from central Tokyo. It’s hassle-free and perfect if you want to sit back, soak in the views, and leave the logistics to someone else.

What other places are included in a Chureito Pagoda day tour?

You're in for more than just the pagoda. Many tours also include Lake Kawaguchi, Oshino Hakkai village, Gotemba Premium Outlets, or seasonal flower parks. It’s like checking off your entire Mount Fuji bucket list in one go.

How long do the day tours typically last?

Expect a full-day adventure — around 10–11 hours from pickup to drop-off. That gives you enough time to take in all the sights, enjoy a local lunch, and still get back to Tokyo by evening.

When is the best time to visit Chureito Pagoda?

Spring and autumn steal the show! Visit in mid-April for the cherry blossoms or early November for fiery fall colors. For crowd-free views, aim for early morning departures.

How many steps are there to reach Chureito Pagoda?

There are about 398 steps, so wear comfy shoes and take it slow. The view from the top? Absolutely worth every step.

Is Chureito Pagoda accessible for people with limited mobility?

There’s a paved path partway, but the final section involves stairs. While full accessibility is limited, the nearby Arakurayama Sengen Shrine still offers lovely views without the full climb.

What should I wear on a day tour to Chureito Pagoda?

Dress in layers, wear walking shoes, and bring a light jacket — even in summer. The weather near Mt. Fuji can change fast, and it’s cooler up in the mountains.
